Counselling is a talking therapy...
I work in a very person-centred way, what this means is that you will decide what you wish to explore and at a pace that is comfortable to you. We will work together to find a counselling style to suit your needs.
Often people who seek counselling are suffering on their own with their internal emotional turmoil. This can present in different ways, both physically and mentally; you may feel depressed, confused, angry, isolated, overwhelmed, anxious or be having suicidal thoughts. If you have physical signs of distress they may present as panic attacks, headaches, recurrent minor illnesses or you may feel tired and tearful.
Whatever it may be that you are struggling with, you will be treated non-judgementally with compassion, understanding and confidentiality. If this is the first time you have thought about having counselling, the thought of talking about personal and troubling thoughts and feelings can feel overwhelming and a little frightening. That is completely normal, and I will support you to the best of my ability, with warmth and with a genuine desire to help you come to terms with these feelings.
